It was a brewed awakening for one Calgary neighbourhood Tuesday morning.
The southwest community of Oakridge woke to find a suburban home transformed into a fully operational Tim Hortons store.
“Yesterday it was a house, today it is a Tim Hortons, an operating restaurant,” Doug Gunn, director of marketing for Tim Hortons, told Huffington Post Alberta.
Gunn said the transformation of the house began on Sunday, but it wasn't until Monday night that the restaurant truly began to take shape.
The store, complete with a neon sign over the garage and red and brown awnings, is an attempt to attract employees and show them how fun working at Tim Hortons can be, said Gunn.
Tim Hortons is looking to fill 280 positions in Calgary, 1,800 positions province-wide, and 5,000 positions across Canada.
The pop-up coffee shop also featured a front counter and donut display case, as well as tables and chair for those who prefer to dine-in.
Gunn said the response from the community has been "amazing."
"People have been coming in, asking if we can go to their neighbourhood next time."
The store is located at 303 Oakfern Way S.W. and will be open from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m Tuesday.
