'Scarface' Mansion For Sale, But It's Not Where You'd Think

Tony Montana’s Miami palace from the legendary gangster flick “Scarface” is on sale for a cool $35 million U.S.

One little hitch, though: It’s actually in California, nestled in the hills above Santa Barbara on the coast north of L.A.

(Santa Barbara, by the way, is some sort of ridiculously pretty storybook town that seems utterly devoid of machine gun-toting Cuban gangsters.)

The property’s real name is El Fureidis and it was originally built as a botanical garden, in 1906. There are 10 acres of land featuring a variety of trees, some of which are more than 100 years old, according to the realtor’s website.

The house itself is actually a little small by outrageous-palace standards: There are four bedrooms and nine bathroooms on 9,800 square feet of living space.

But you better move fast if you want to buy this one.

I do believe El Fureidis will sell quickly, as compared with other homes in this segment of the market,” Village Properties realtor Emily Kellenberger McBride told the International Business Times.

“There is nothing else like El Fureidis. The property is in pristine condition, it has incredible history and provenance, and we have put together an extensive marketing program for the sale of the estate.”
