Week after week, no one seems to be winning the Lotto Max jackpot, and the money’s beginning to pile up.
This week’s prizes are up to $100 million -- a $50 million jackpot and 50 MaxMillions prizes worth $1 million each, only the fifth time the $100-million mark has been reached in the lottery’s history. The draw takes place Friday night.
Since it launched in 2009, Lotto Max has given out more than $2 billion in prizes, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (OLG) said in a statement.
Last week’s prizes topped $80 million, with winning tickets for two $1-million prizes issued in Ontario, two in B.C. and two on the prairies. There was, of course, no winning ticket for the main jackpot.
